On Thursday, November 19, 2009, the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce held its annual End of the Year Banquet.  This year, our Business After Hours was hosted and sponsored by Starbucks Coffee and held at the new Starbucks Roasting Facility in Sandy Run.

The night started with refreshments and fellowship inside the new Starbucks facility.  Our delicious food was delightfully prepared by Chris Williams of Lone Star BBQ and Catering.  We also enjoyed fresh brewed Starbucks Coffee.  Once our presentation got underway, we were given an overview of the state-of-the art facility of Starbucks by Troy Hoover, Interim General Manager of the Sandy Run Roasting Plant and Mary Woolsey, Partner Resources Manager.

Following this presentation, Brenda Austin, VP of the Midlands Region of CPM, and the 2009 President of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce,  gave us an overview of the Chamber accomplishments for the year 2009 and some insight into our plans for the upcoming year.  Then, our new president for the year 2010, Brent Crenshaw of High Cotton Greenhouses, was introduced.  He shared his excitement for the upcoming year.  Following Brent, Bonnie Brunt, of Thomas Brunt's Outfront, Inc., who serves on the Board of Directors of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce as our Webmaster, presented the new Chamber Website and explained the new additions and features that will enhance our members' experiences as well as visitors to our area. 

Once the announcements were complete, the Business Person of the Year, David Stack, employed by Hay Hill Landscaping, was presented as the Calhoun County Business Person of the Year by Jane Dyches, the Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce.  Following this presentation was the presentation of the Business of the Year, Tri-County Electric Coop, also by Jane Dyches.
